The Florida Keys is full of great fishing all year long.  Whether you choose to go inshore or offshore you are sure to have a great time.  Florida Keys Flats Fishing is a great option because of the many numbers of species you can catch without ever venturing into the rough deep water.  So if any of you are worried about getting sea sick this is the trip for you.  No matter the weather conditions there is always something we can get out there and catch when backcountry fishing.   If the weather is great we will recommend fishing for Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Trout, Snook, and Redfish.  If the weather is a little less than perfect we may recommend fishing for Snapper, Grouper, Barracuda, Jacks, Ladyfish, and even Sharks.  All of these fish can be caught using light tackle spinning or even fly fishing gear.

Fishing in South Florida and The Florida Keys can be great all year long but there are different times of the year that can be better for specific species of fish.  For example Spring time is especially great for Tarpon as well as pretty much every other gamefish we have in the backcountry flats like bonefish, permit, snook, and redfish.  But don't worry if you happen to come during the winter there are still tarpon around you just have to keep your fingers crossed that the weather will allow us to target them.  If the weather won't cooperate for Tarpon in the winter we can still target big Snook and Redfish which is still very challenging and a whole lot of fun.  Many anglers over the years compare fishing for Snook and Redfish in the backcountry flats to Large Mouth Bass fishing on Steroids.  This is because the lures used and casting to the mangrove edges is just like Bass fishing only our fish are much bigger and fight harder.
