Florida Flats Fishing
|
The state of Florida is home to many different styles of fishing. From the deep blue sea to the narrow backcountry creeks, Florida is almost like a playground for fisherman of all skill levels. Surprisingly, the calm, shallow waters are home to some really awesome fishing. This inshore style of fishing is called Flats Fishing. Inshore Fishing = Flats Fishing Calm Shallow Water Less Than 4 Feet Deep
Florida is home to thousands of miles of flats that Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Sharks call home. This is why Florida Flats Fishing is so spectacular. On a single day an angler can have the opportunity to catch a number of different species while never venturing into water deeper than 4 feet. This can eliminate long runs and even the fear of sea sickness. Flats Fishing = Many Different Species To Target Florida Flats Fishing = No Sea Sickness
Our Florida Flats Fishing trips often start at 7:00 AM and will last 4, 6, or 8 hours depending on tides, weather, and even your personal schedule. This is because when you hire a Flats Fishing Guide you are hiring the captain and his boat and not splitting the charter with another group or part. Usually, Flats Fishing charters will accommodate 1-3 anglers per boat when on a "Flats Boat." A newer slightly larger style of boat called a "Bay Boat" can accommodate up to 5 anglers per trip. Both types of boats can still fish the shallow waters and flats however, the techniques used may differ depending on the species targeted and weather conditions. |
