Biscayne Bay Fishing

The closest body of water to the Miami area is Biscayne
Bay.  It is home to some of the Largest Bonefish in the
entire  world.  During the Spring and Summer months it
is also great for Permit and Tarpon fishing.  You can
target any of these fish using light tackle or fly gear.

What can I expect?

While traveling across Biscayne Bay you can expect to
see crystal clear water illuminating over the shallow
flats.  These shallow flats are the feeding grounds for
Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon.  During certain parts of
the tides these fish can often be seen with their tails
sticking out of the water.  We refer to this situation as
"tailing fish" and is a great treat for any flats fishing
angler to experience.

What are the typical species of fish caught in

Is the fishing in Biscayne Bay really that good?

Well this is a fairly common question.  South Florida has
some of the largest Bonefish in the entire world.  Our
average bonefish is 8 pounds and have been caught up to
15 pounds!  Our permit fishing during the warmer months
is very good with the average fish around 10 pounds and
can be caught nearing the 50 pound range.  Our Tarpon
fishing can be done all year long and range from 1-200
pounds! Just remember Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon are
all considered valuable gamefish and are Catch And
Release Only.  So this means that they are very educated
so bring your best fishing skills with you on your trip.

What if I just want to go fishing and catch fish?

Well don't worry we can accommodate you guys as well.
Biscayne Bay is also home to many other species that are
easier to catch.  We have Snapper, Grouper, Trout, Jacks,
Ladyfish, and Sharks.

Fishing in Biscayne Bay can be a great place to just get
away for a half day or Sunset Trip with the wife or children
to make up for that lost time.  It is a short commute from
anywhere in the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area.
